Booking and stay terms for Hidden Escapes lodges.

These terms and conditions apply when you book or stay at Hidden Escapes. By making a booking or using our lodges, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. If anything is unclear, contact us before you book.
About us
Hidden Escapes is operated by Hidden Escapes Ltd (company number SC788653), Hidden Escapes, Carmyllie, Arbroath, Angus DD11 2QT, United Kingdom. References to "we", "us", or "our" mean Hidden Escapes Ltd. References to "you" or "guest" mean the person making the booking and all members of their party.
Bookings
Bookings are made through our website booking system or by arrangement with us directly. A booking is confirmed only when you receive written confirmation (usually by email) and any required deposit or payment has been processed according to the instructions in that confirmation.
You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking. You are responsible for ensuring that all guests in your party comply with these terms and with any house rules communicated before or during your stay.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. The price confirmed at booking is the price you pay unless we agree a change in writing. We may correct obvious pricing errors before a booking is confirmed.
Payment terms (deposit, balance due date, and accepted methods) are set out in your booking confirmation. If payment is not received by the due date, we may treat the booking as cancelled and apply our cancellation policy.
Cancellations and changes
Cancellation and amendment terms depend on the rate and policy shown when you book and in your confirmation email. These may differ between lodges, dates, and promotional offers. Please check your confirmation carefully.
If you need to cancel or change a booking, contact us as soon as possible. Refunds, where due, are processed to the original payment method unless we agree otherwise. We are not responsible for travel costs, insurance, or other expenses you incur if you cancel.
Your stay
Check-in and check-out times, minimum stays, and lodge-specific rules are provided in your confirmation and on our website. You must leave the lodge in a reasonable condition. You are liable for damage caused by you or your guests beyond fair wear and tear, including to fixtures, furniture, hot tubs, saunas, and equipment.
Unless we agree otherwise in writing:
Lodges are for the number of guests stated on the booking only.
Commercial events, parties, and unauthorised gatherings are not permitted.
Smoking is not permitted inside the lodges.
Pets are only allowed where explicitly agreed for your booking.
Quiet hours and local consideration for neighbours apply as communicated to you.
Hot tubs, saunas, and outdoor facilities
Private hot tubs, saunas, fire pits, and outdoor areas are provided for your enjoyment. You use them at your own risk. Children must be supervised. Do not use facilities if under the influence of alcohol or drugs to a degree that affects safety. Follow any operating instructions we provide.
If we need to cancel or change your booking
In rare circumstances we may need to cancel or relocate your booking (for example due to severe damage, safety concerns, or circumstances outside our control). If we cancel, we will offer a full refund of amounts paid to us for the affected booking or, where possible, an alternative date or lodge. Our liability is limited as set out below.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Subject to the above, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (including loss of profit, loss of enjoyment, or travel costs). Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your booking or stay is limited to the amount you paid us for that booking, except where a higher limit is required by law.
Complaints
If something is not right during your stay, please tell us as soon as possible so we can try to resolve it. After your stay, contact us within 14 days with details. We will respond in a reasonable timeframe.
Privacy
We process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. The courts of Scotland have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers resident elsewhere in the UK may bring proceedings in their home jurisdiction where consumer law allows.
